In fondo i miei vini sono semplicemente l’espressione di una terra che produce già eccezionali vini. Allora perchè questo nuovo progetto?
La scelta nasce dalla voglia di esprimermi in prima persona, consapevole che non ho inventato nulla di nuovo nel vino in sé, ma solo nel modo di comunicarlo: porto una parte di me in questi vini, un lavoro che è, innanzi tutto, una scelta di vita. I cinque sensi sono lo strumento attraverso cui tutti possono arrivare a comprendere il vino con il cuore e la passione, gli stessi che mi hanno guidata in questo percorso. Il vino mi ha insegnato, in qualche modo, mi ha educato. Così come in ogni processo di conoscenza, c’è voluto tempo, è stato un amore nato piano piano e solo ultimamente mi è chiaro quanto sia fondamentale nella mia vita.

Ogni vino rappresenta un senso, come in una scala di cui si salgono i gradini uno per volta, in un crescendo di sensazioni ed emozioni.
Ho scelto, in questo percorso, i vitigni più rappresentativi della mia zona, con alcune aggiunte, direi variazioni sul tema: Serralunga d’Alba per il Barolo, teatro privilegiato per la sua naturale vocazione alla produzione di qualità, e l’area circostante ad Alba per gli altri vini. Inoltre, la meticolosa scelta dei vigneti e la selezione delle uve sono state la condicio sine qua non per cominciare un progetto alla base del quale c’è la qualità e l’eccellenza di un territorio.
Le attenzioni a livello tecnico sono state massime, avendo come obiettivo l’integrità e la ricchezza varietale del vitigno.

At heart, my wines are simply the expression of a land that already produces exceptional wines. So why this new project, then? The decision came out of the desire to express myself in first person, very aware that I have invented nothing new in the wine itself, but only in the way of communicating it. I bring a part of myself to these wines, a job that is, above all, a lifestyle choice. The five senses are the instruments through which everyone can learn to understand wine with their heart and passion, the same that have guided me on this journey. Wine has been my teacher; in a way, it educated me. As in every learning process, it took time, it was a love that grew very slowly, and it is only lately that I have realised how much it is fundamental in my life.

Each wine represents one of the senses, like a ladder climbed one step at a time in a crescendo of sensations and emotions. For this project, I have chosen the varieties that are most representative of my area, with some additions – I’d call them variations on a theme. Serralunga d’Alba for the Barolo – a prime site renowned for its natural propensity for producing quality grapes, and the area around Alba for the other wines. Furthermore, the meticulous choice of vineyards and selection of the grapes were the sine qua non conditions for starting a project based on the quality and excellence of a territory.
The greatest care has been taken with the entire process, with the goal being the integrity and richness of each variety’s characteristics.
Die 5 Sinne
Im Grunde sind meine Weine ganz einfach der Ausdruck einer Gegend, die bereits hervorragende Weine produziert. Warum also dieses neue Projekt? Die Entscheidung entstand aus dem Willen heraus, mich persönlich zum Ausdruck bringen, im Bewusstsein, dass ich in Bezug auf den Wein an sich nichts Neues erfunden habe, sondern nur in Bezug auf die Art, ihn bekannt zu machen: in diesen Weinen nehme ich einen Teil von mir mit, eine Arbeit, die vor allem eine Lebensentscheidung ist. Die fünf Sinne sind das Hilfsmittel, dank dessen es uns allen gelingen kann, den Wein mit dem Herzen und mit Leidenschaft zu verstehen, die gleichen Gefühle, die mich auf diesem Weg geführt haben. Der Wein war in gewissem Sinne mein Lehrmeister, mein Erzieher. So wie bei jedem Erkenntnisprozess brauchte es seine Zeit, es ist eine Liebe, die ganz langsam entstanden ist und erst in letzter Zeit wird mir klar, wie bedeutend sie für mein Leben ist.
Die 5 Weine
Jeder Wein repräsentiert einen der Sinne, wie bei einer Treppe, bei der man eine Stufe nach der anderen nach oben geht, in einem Crescendo an Empfindungen und Emotionen.
Für diesen Weg habe ich die Rebsorten ausgewählt, die mein Heimatgebiet am besten vertreten, mit einigen Zusätzen, ja ich würde sagen, Variationen zum Thema: Serralunga d’Alba für den Barolo, eine privilegierte Bühne aufgrund ihrer natürlichen Berufung zur hochqualitativen Produktion, und der Bereich rund um Alba für die anderen Weine. Die minutiöse Wahl der Weinberge und die Auswahl der Trauben stellten die Condicio sine qua non für den Beginn eines Projekts dar, das auf der Qualität und Exzellenz eines Gebietes basiert. Das Augenmerk auf technischer Ebene war besonders hoch, da das Ziel in der Unversehrtheit und im Reichtum der jeweiligen Rebsorte bestand.
